Our Role
The CTR Board establishes program guidelines for the state's Commute Trip Reduction program and ensures statewide consistency among county and local ordinances. The board develops reviews and approves local and regional and state plans, allocates funding, and provides general policy guidance for the CTR program.

The Commute Trip Reduction (CTR) Board consists of 16 members that are appointed by the Governor to represent Washington citizens, businesses, state agencies, transit agencies and local jurisdictions.

CTR Board History

Modified CTR Program / 2006 Legislation Session
The legislature passed the Commute Trip Reduction (CTR) Efficiency Act (ESSB 6566) during the 2006 session based on recommendations from the CTR Task Force's 2005 legislative report. The CTR Board is reviewing the draft rules and guidelines for modifying the state's CTR Program which is scheduled to begin July 1, 2007.




CTR Board Replaces the CTR Task Force / July 2006
The CTR Board replaced the CTR Task Force in July 2006 to make it a smaller, more policy-oriented board.
